Playing Catch Up.

It's officially fall. Now it's time to play some catch with how much I slacked off on this blog this summer. We had a great summer. Three trips to three great places; the most we've ever traveled in one summer.

MEMORIAL DAY in GALVESTON

The first trip of the summer was the Johnson family trip to the beaches of Galveston, Texas. It's an annual thing. It's just close enough to drive, maybe 6 hours south towards Houston.

The kids always seem to look forwar
d to the beach. School has just ended. The summer is not too hot yet. It's a nice change from the normalcy of the school year.

It was Beyla's first beach experience. During last year's trip she wasn't even born yet. She LOVED getting dirty. It took forever to wash sand out of all the little baby nooks and crannies.

Benjamin and Eli went crab hunting for the first time. What little boy wouldn't like going out late at night in the dark with a flashlight looking for scary creatures. There were many to be found and the older boys even caught a few.

Benjamin also enjoyed the sand fort building and the "sand war" that ensued. We all had a great time. It was a great start to the summer.

Next Trip:
MICHIGAN in JUNE

Coming soon....
