After dinner marshmallow roasting has become popular. Or really just any activity that involves lighting the back porch fireplace.
And bonfires out in the yard, again with marshmallows. Grandma Michigan cookies seem to be more popular than marshmallows though. The boys ate all the cookies grandma sent down in two days.
The boys found a baby rabbit outside in the trees. Unfortunately, the cats also discovered the rabbit. Needless to say, there will be one less rabbit in the woods this year.
We found one activity that little Eli does not like. Bowling. We don't know why. He just did not like it. Not one bit.
Ben thought it was okay. He made it through half a set before getting bored. I guess we'll stick to the outdoor activities.
Another beautiful sunny and cool day this past weekend, and another chance for an outdoor activity. "A Day Out With Thomas" was in Grapevine again. Fortunately for our wallets, the boys were not interested in riding the Thomas train. At $18 per person including adults, we would have spent $90 for the ride.
The boys were happy to just watch Thomas pull in the station (or back in really, since Thomas is just a fake caboose train that the real engine backs into the station - but hey, it looks real). They were also happy enough to trade the $90 train ride for about $35 in two new trains to take home.
Beyla absolutely loved this talking Thomas train, but the price made us love it not so much. She was happy enough to last until she forgot about it.
More outside time. We're back to doing family walks after dinner. There are lots of new houses going up in the neighborhood. We'll post pictures of some of them soon. And with my brother beginning his build soon, that makes four or five houses going up at once.
We'll end with some inside pictures.
...like Beyla on the potty. She just might potty train before her brother. Eli has no desire to sit on this thing. Even with chocolate bribes and promises of cake, he still won't have anything to do with it.
So for now, it's all yours Beyla.

Spring cleaning has begun around the house. So has Spring fixing. Benjamin really wanted to help fix mom's squeeky bedroom door. He hammered the hinge pin back in and fixed it all up.
He also helped build planter boxes for the blackberry bushes.
Next project on the list: Building the frames for the raised vegetable garden.

We found these pink glasses in a parking lot. And the 3D glasses are from my trip to see Avatar. A teenage kid working the theatre said I couldn't take the 3D glasses home, but I really wanted Amanda the see what the new 3D glasses looked like. He quickly went to get a manager.

Oh.... I almost forgot. The barn is finally underway. After MAJOR setbacks that took nearly four months to resolve (aka...getting totally ripped off by a steel barn company in Florida) we are finally back on track. We are now building a brick sided wood barn.
More on that soon.
